New System keeps rebooting (Update)

Hi All

Here are my system Stats:

OCZ 700W Power supply
Gigabyte GA-EX38-DS4 MB
Kingston hyperX pc2 9600 2G
Raptor 150
Zaleman 9700 CPU Cooler
Intel Q9450

Bios Settings:

BIOS1
BIOS2
BIOS3
BIOS4


When I try to run Prime95 in Blend 2 of the 4 threads fail within a min.
It says hardware error check stress.txt but the file is never created.

I can just be editing in dreamweaver and it will reboot on me. There are no errors or warnings in the event logs. I shut off the option to reboot on error in windows XP.

I didnt change any of the advanced timing controls because i really do not know what they do.

Im hoping it is just my voltages. should i manually set the ones that say normal? if so to what?

As for the memory I set it according to the instruction at 5-5-5-15 2.35V I did this after the screen shots.


What more can i tweak or should i try to reload windows?

System is a week old.

your memory doesn't need 2.35v. drop it down to 1.8v. hopefully you haven't fried it already.

Everywhere I checked online and in the instructions says to set it to 2.3 -2.35V

Crazily enough, that's what it requires, to operate @ 1200 DDR. Jonny, what video card are you running, and how many CFM is the fan you have blowing down on your RAM? Oh, and welcome to anandtech. BTW, do you have 15 or 20 sticks of Kingston PC9600, or just one? And is your CPU overclocked?

Its a gigabyte 9600GT

I am using the Antec P182 Case with 3 120mm fans in it. The mem. doesnt really get too hot to the touch.

Dont know if this is Significant but i did plug in both of the 4 prong power connectors into the MB since i had the two connections. From reading the manual im pretty sure thats right.

Which setting in the bios sets the Vcore voltage,
FSB Overvoltage Control or
CPU Voltage control.

CPU Voltage control is set to normal if i go manual it just havs a bunch of volatges in there not +.20 ect. What should i set that to?

That all depends on what your processor requires, for the speed you're trying to run it at. Probably somewhere between 1.325 & 1.350v would be about right, for a moderate overclock. I'm just guessing, though, plus I don't have any idea how much Voffset or vdroop your board has, and I'm assuming you probably don't either.

What are the diffent ways to set the ratio ogf the memory. My FSBRAM is 2:3 i have seen people have it set at 1:2. would increasing the mulriplier and decreasing the FSB help me out?

is vdroop the offset of the voltage under load or at idle?

UPDATE:

I think it was my voltages. I went home and set everything back to default and started over.

Current settings

CPU - 399 * 8
Mem - 1197 Mhz

Vcore - 1.220V
DDR - 2.32V
(G)MCH - +0.100
FSB Overvoltage - +.05
+3.3 - 3.312
+12 - 12.302

It doesnt reboot anymore. I car run prime on blend mode for an hour then 1 thread crashed. Temps were @ 59-63 realtemp at 100% load

Now which voltage should i fine tune to get this totally stable?

Also does anyone know the FSB and NB voltage starting points for this board?

I wish it told you the actual voltage instead of +-.

Looks like you may want to bump up the Vcore a little more
