New System intermittently freezes..

Ok... The system runs fine but it freezes intermittingly. It is definitely not a software problem. System uptime can vary from 1 hour or every few hours and even one whole night. The freezing doesn't occur during the use of certain applications. We first thought it was the power supply. At the time we had the PSU that came with the Chenming case, the 420Watt TurboLink. We got a replacement from newegg, a 450Watt PSU from Allied and yet we still are experiencing freezing. We replaced the mobo and the cpu and we still experience freezing. We tried a different memory module and STILL had the same problem. It runs very smooth otherwise. The freezing is very annoying because the system is so nice while its running. I had tried using the Radeon 9700Pro on my other computer to make sure it didn't cause the crashes and it ran smoothly without freezing. I don't know what could be causing it. Not a BSOD. Also, it even freezes occasionally when no one is using the computer.

Any help would be appreciated..

Just a thought, try to narrow it down. Rebuild it outside of the case on a piece of cardboard with only the bare minimum (HD,FD,RAM, Video) to boot up. Check your mobo settings and reseat all connections. The drives can remain in the case. Run it and if all goes well add the other hardware back in one at a time, running in between each addition. If it works outside of the case then rebuild it in the case. If it starts up again in the case, then you may be shorting out on the case. This was recommended to me a couple years back when I was having a similar problem.

Wow:Q. If g4graham suggestion doesn't work, I wouldn't know what else to do. I one time had a haunted Floppy drive that didn't allow any computer to boot up with it attached.

Bump for more help.
