Hi I'm building a new system and I realy need your help. There is just so many options that I haven't been this confused since my first programming lesson. Anyway I'm open to all suggestions. The system will be used for General Use and Gaming and I won't it to be not very expensive around $400 and I already have a VC- Radeon 9600 and 512 MB RAM. I can swap some parts with my first system(on my signature) which is my main gaming one.
Thanks anyway

Are you trying to upgrade your current rig... or make one for someone else... I'm confused about how you could take parts from your main rig to make a budget computer.

If you're just looking to upgrading your current rig, I'd say get a 6800gt for about $300 and get either 512mb of pc3200 or a full gig of pc3200 and ditch the pc2700.

looks like he's trying to build an additional system.

I sugest going to pricewatch.com and jumping on the AMD 3000 + Chaintech MOBO combo for $154 shipped.
Then getting a case + PSU, Hard Drive

Based on your current system, the greatest benefit would come from upgrading your VC and RAM...

Edit: Oh new, right, which parts are you willing to swap from your first system?

So you want two full working systems in the end?

So for $400 you want to get
Case
Powersupply
CPU
Motherboard
Harddrive
Optical Drives

Is that all?
Do you need a monitor? Speakers? Windows? Mouse/Keyboard?

What kind of ram do you have right now?
