New system for granny?

New to her. I'm putting a system together for my grandma from some old parts I have. I have a slot 1 board and a p233mmx. Anyone ever heard of a socket 7 to slot 1 adapter? If so where can I get one. She's probably not likely to play Counterstrike or UT so this system is perfect for her.

nope no socket to slot adapter like that exists the chipsets and bus aren't right. just get her and old slot1 celeron, try forsale forum

If it's in the budget, pick up a cheap P3 like a 450 or a 500 ($100 + or -).

The P233MMX won't work with a Slot1 board since Slot 1 boards are meant for P/P3/Celerons. Depending on what chipset your slot 1 board uses, you might be able to slap a cheap Celeron in it.

Seriously, even though she won't be playing any games and the like I doubt she wants to wait 4 or 5 seconds for IE to open, it gets irritating.

Why start her off at the bottom? Get a 500+mhz CPU and 64MB RAM at least.
