So I'm getting these components basically for free and need to decide which OS to go with. I'll probably create a dual boot partition for Win XP but can't decide if I should go with Vista Ultimate 32bit or 64bit.

The XP will be used for application compatibility for my wifes work. the Vista will be used mostly by me for a media center pc and for some gaming and basic office work. I'll also be running virtual machines for testing server software (should I do this in XP or Vista?). I've already successfully been using Virtual Server on my Vista Ultimate 32bit notebook.

So I guess my question is, should I go with 32bit or 64bit Vista Ultimate. Here is the pc components I'm getting:

Antec P190 case (has 2 power supplies 600w and 550w)
Asus P5E3 Deluxe mother board (has built in Wireless N, anyone know how well this works?)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Crucial Ballistix 2 x 1GB 1600mhz DDR3 memory
2 x Western Digital 1TB 7200rpm SATA drives (Raid1)

I just have to purchase a Video card and a capture card. Will probably go with the Nvidia 8800GTS and the Haupauge 1800 unless I find a better option. Down the road I'd like to get 2 more 1GB memory for 4GB whenever DDR3 starts to drop.

I'd like to hear any recommendations!

Check for 64 bit drivers for all your devices. If it looks good to go, go with 64 bit. You'd want to upgrade to 64 once you upgraded to 4GB of memory anyway, since 32 has the well-known memory limitation. Your hardware is more than enough for Vista.
