well im looking at build a new gaming system since the one im using is 5 years old. im looking to us amd and ati,
so far what i have is
955 amd be
msi 790fx gd70

if you guys could give me some more ideas and your opinions of what i should use and other parts thanks

If you have $2k to burn why not wait a couple months and see how the i5 and such plays out?

You would greatly benefit putting your purchase off for a month, and spending the next couple weeks reading about the current offerings and what's coming up.

Intel i5 will be released soon, Phenom II is available now, Christmas is coming up and you have a lot of money to spend on your system. There are a lot of posts and guides (as referenced above) that will get you EXACTLY where you are trying to be, you just need to figure out where that is =)

For what it's worth - I think that's a solid mobo/CPU combination.
