Just completed a new system build, and am having internet connection problems. I suspect it is a driver or MOBO firewall issue, but so far I cant seem to find the source of the problem. In order to access the internet, I have to repair my connection for every unique instance of opening my web browser. Once I repair, I can access no problem, that is until I close out of my browser and attempt to connect again.

When I go into Network Connections from Control Panel, I show the following LAN or High Speed Internet Devices:
1394 Connection (Connected, Firewalled)
1394 Connector 2 (Connected, Firewalled)
Local Area Connection 2 (NVIDIA nForce Network Controller, Connected, Firewalled)

Is this the infamous Nforce firewall issue I keep reading about, and if so, how do I go about disabling it...I cant seem to find an option to do so anywhere. Thank you.

I would think that the NForce firewall would be in the BIOS. Yeah, I would disable that kinda stuff anyhow. The Windows firewall is fine for regular crap, if you just want a desktop one.

I had a problem like this once on a laptop, and it turned out to be my switch of all things. It would allow other computers to work fine, but this one kept dropping. I changed the duplex on the card to force it to 1GB (100 would probably work too for you) on the laptop and auto 100/1000 on the switch and it all worked out fine.

I was looking around in my bios last night, and didnt find anything that specifically referred to the nforce firewall...does it go by another name in the bios so I know what to disable?
