Well AMD like 2 dayd my new Opteron , dropped it in and comes right up. Also They delivered my Sceptre 37 same day. My question now for those using this monitor/TV how do i config this thing to run best. Have it hooked to new computer, Video card is evga 7800 GTX card. Hooked up the DVI and can view on screen, took me few times to get screen to match pc desktop seems ok though. Issue i have now is if i set to 1900x1080 it shakes horribly. Ive read about "judder" i assume that is what they are talking about. For those who are using this tv/monitor as Pc monitor how do u have it set and can you help with setup/setttings etc. I will be installing software etc over next day or so and will try game soon to see how that looks but want to get this video stuff set up front.

Thx for any help

I don't know if this would affect it at all, but 1920x1080 is 1080p, not 1900x1080.

ribbon13 has the 37" sceptre hooked up to a PC, you might want to ask him what settings he uses.

Have you tried different refresh rates at that resolution?

I've heard you can't do that resolution over dvi you have to use the composite.

Same thing happens whenever I hook up my pc to my Sony Plasma. I wonder what causes this issue.

Did you buy it from Costco or Newegg? You got a revision 2 panel, but don't worry theres an easy work around. Download powerstrip and run at 53.306Hz.

Most video cards can use any resolution using numbers divisible by 8 (Which is why 1366x768 isn't a PC friendly res.) but as long as the LCD has 1:1 pixel mapping set they will appear perfectly.

oh and quick ? i notice when running the ASUS monitor program shows the seasonic PS fan only running at like 750 rpm and says that is low? is that normal? CPU temp shows as like 44c

thx

It is low, but the Asus monitor is probably expecting 80mm fan RPMs, not 120mm fan RPMs. 120mm fan blades spin slower to move the same amount of air. It's actually one of the features of the Seasonic. Quiet.

44c is a bit high. You installed the HSF correctly? With the curves of the heat pipes to the bottom of the chassis?

Costco or newegg?

The issue is they switch to some cheaper hardware section that goes from HDMI-DVI to LCD controller on Rev2 models (have to cut corners somewhere when you're talking about 37" widescreen for $1500) A proper EDID would do the trick, but I doubt Sceptre is going to release info on how an end-user could update the panel's firmware.

ok now im confused.
It appears now that when i switch desktop to 1920x1080 at 60hhz it runs fine? no more shaking etc . I dont think i did anything, so im confused? i ran a quicktime HD 1080p trailer (xmen 3)and it ran fine, did notice some "banding" of some affects when black was involved (explosion etc)but i assume that is just LCD , as i think i see this on my small LCD as well. anyone have thought on that.

thx

still seems ok so far, some jaggy when running FEAR in 1600x1200 but again i think that is LCD thing. Main issue still seems to be those RED bars running down the screen. I change the color temp on the monitor menu and it alters it some but it still shows up in other scenes. any ideas how to remove that?

installed the powerstrip and that judder test, can see it slightly do that at 60hz but if you do turn it down to 53hz seems clean. Now if anyone has any ideas about these color bands please let me know, anyone have this monitor and seen this issue? im going to get a longer cable tomorrow (hdmi-dvi) wonder if i should try the vga one to see if its any diff? really want this thing to work but for this money if it doesnt work great its going back.
