I've been in the market for a while, but finally dropped the coin a couple weeks ago, just got it last week. So far, I really like it. It's nice having freshly ground espresso (although I usually drink milk based drinks instead of straight) every AM. Beats the hell out of drip.

Excuse the grainyness and quality of the pics, my old HP 2.0MP camera is getting close to retirement time.

Saeco Incanto Rapid Steam

Pic 1
Pic 2 - Crema! (still working on adjusting it for the best)
Pic 3 - bean hopper and water tank in back

Off topic - teh cutness! (after catching him sleeping in our bed)

CDN $1200, which is more than it should be. It isn't available in the states yet (who knows why) but something very similar is the Starbucks Digital Barista which I think goes on sale for $800-ish US$.

Thanks. Spud appreciates it I'm sure :)

Beans are some Italian Espresso beans that the store where I bought the machine gave me. They're quite nice. I *usually* use Starbucks espresso roast but I think I want to experiment with different brands. I may try getting some green beans and roasting my own.

True, but some people spend $10 per day on Espresso/Late's so that adds up pretty quick. Now, I'm not that hardcore myself but I do like them. The convenience of the superauto kicks butt. It's not the *best* espresso you're going to get, but it's darn good and definetly better than anything I've ever had at Starbucks.

Oh my dear god! $1000 for a coffee machine? That thing looks cheap. I know nothing about coffee though, but I guess it's worth it if you are a coffee freak.

You should try roasting your own, it makes such a huge difference in quality. Plus you can buy nice blends or make your own which is fun.
Have you checked out coffeegeek.com?

I use a Rancillio Silvia, Mazzer Mini, and home roast :D

Don't remember. I could have told you a month ago as I still had the sample from when I built the house, but I just turfed it a little while back.

Name does sound kinda familiar, though. Could be.

Trust me, $1000-ish for a super-auto is a drop in the bucket. It is "slightly" higher-mid end (you can get them for as cheap as $450-ish, but those aren't very good) but they can easily fetch $3-$4K for more high-end pro-sumer models.

It may look cheap, but it's pretty decieving. The cabinet is almost all metal with the exception of the top around the buttons which is plastic covered (but metal underneath) and the door. The whole thing weighs probably about, oh, 40 lbs I'd say.

Yep. Good resource.

I really think I may try home roasting. I was suprised at how inexpensive it is (relatively speaking! :))

Nice setup yourself!
