Who cares about the Church? It's an outdated and anachronistic institution whose followers are, on the whole, as misguided as it is. If they hope to stay relevant in the modern world they have a lot of changing to do (Reformation II?)

British researchers have discovered the way peoples' eyes respond to sudden loud noises may signal differences between heterosexual and homosexual men and women

So, we now have a gay test?

Duh..... I do not choose to be straight, I am. So why would ANYBODY choose to be gay. There is no upside, only down.

Juts a bunch of closed mined biggots believe it is a choice.

you people are so stereotypical. I still don't believe that it's a natural human trait, but that doesn't mean that I automatically believe it's a choice. Stop being so close-minded.

My personal belief is that you aren't born gay, but then certain things can happen with the way you are raised that will make a person become gay. In that regard it's not really a choice.

Proof that peopel are born Gay woudl change any religious view on the matter. If it is wrong in a religion's view, being born that way does not change anything, you are still required to put God's will first, not your own. However, I can not find anything in the New Testament that prohibits loving consentual homosexual behavior between adults. You have to do a pretty convoluted reading to make it a sin.

From article...
while gay men averaged 32 percent, slightly lower than that of straight men but not statistically significant
Translation: the researchers are talking out of their asses...

Personally, I never thought one chose to be gay anyway. I've always believed people that are gay were born that way.

Romans Chapter 1

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator--who is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

penalty=wrath of god...

This topic begs a question I've always been curious about.

Does anyone here know families personally that have more than one child be gay?
I just don't think I've ever heard of such a thing before.

You can choose what you do, but not what you are. In other words, you can choose to have sex with someone who is the same gender, and you might enjoy it and choose to do it again. However, you can't choose the type of people you are physically attracted to, the people who turn you on.

Let's use an example that you might relate to: As a (presumably) straight guy, you can choose to have sex with a fat ugly girl, and you might enjoy it. You might choose to have sex with her again, or with a different fat ugly girl. However, you have no conscious choice over whether or not you're physically attracted to her. You simply are, or you are not.

if you can choose to be straight, then why can't you choose to be gay?

well, not necessarily choice, but nurture rather than nature. no one actively chooses who they are attracted to, they do choose who to sleep with.

well, all the study really does is say that women are born gay, but the test is inconclusive about men.
