In the frozen North that is Hoserland, finding a woman who can slide objects (alcoholic beverage of choice, beavers, the latest copy of Hockey Fanatic magazine, etc) across ice with a fair amount of accuracy is most likely worth something.

this might be fun to play (especially drunk) but should NOT be a part of the olympics!
neither should skiing then stopping to shoot at a target but hey....

C'mon, it has rocks, ice, and broomsticks! The intensity is off the charts. Its kind of like watching a soccer game that is tied 1-1 with 52:45 to play.

Actually I find curling entertaining. But I don't really see the competitors as athletes or even having any athletic ability.

Do you consider archery as requiring athletic ability? Think about its objective not its history. They aim to be closest to a target that is 122cm across and 90 feet away. In curling you are aiming at a target that is over 90 feet away (and the "button" is only 2 feet across).

Of course curling includes the game portion which requires strategy, same thing with short track (its not just fastest time/closest to target, but a direct competition for fastest on the same track/closest to the target after multiple stones have been thrown).

Mostly this goes back to your definition of athletic. Do you consider games that mostly require dexterity?

The only women that won't pose naked for money haven't been asked.
Although there are some women that won't save sex with anyone for money.

Curling could be debatable.
Biathalon, OTOH is not. While you may not put much value in the skill required to shoot a target (do you have any idea how small the target is and how far away they are from it and how small a .22 bullet is?) the physical ability required to basically do long windsprints while in between slowing your heartbeat down enough to be able to shoot a gun accurately is nothing short of astounding.

The scoring is simpler than you think - it's like bocce. The rings don't affect the score as in crokinole or darts, they are just for reference. Whoever has the closest stone to the center gets a point. If you have more than one stone closer than the opponent's closest stone, you get as many points as you have stones closer than the opponent's closest stone.

Scores are calculated at the end of the end after all stones have been thrown.
