Production of the new Star Trek series for CBS will beam down into Toronto this fall.

Studio space has been booked beginning in September for the first Star Trek series since Enterprise ended its four-season run in 2005.

CBS announced last November it was rebooting the franchise for its All Access streaming service (though the first episode will debut on the broadcast network).

Sounds like a low budget crap fest if it's going to be online only.

You might want to look up the budget for the original series before you bad mouth something you haven't seen yet.

Screwing over the community like that is the issue and it will just cause horrible ratings more then likely as it will just encourage even more pirating.

Anything on CBS these days is worrisome.
The online only angle kinda fits, if they make it more dark than PC correct.

I'd like to see a darker less PC approach. Even the Star Trek reboot movie was a bit antiseptic.

Sounds like the latter.

“It is without exaggeration a dream come true to be crafting a brand-new iteration of Star Trek with fellow franchise alum Alex Kurtzman,” Fuller said in a press release last year, “and boldly going where no Star Trek series has gone before.”

But then again, the only "original" Star Trek to me has been just that, the original from the 60s and its related movies. Everything else including TNG and DS9 have been extra add-ons.

PS. I'm really looking forward to the 4K remaster of Wrath of Khan.
