Went to my local Staples (SoCal: Bundy) and tried to get 256mb ram, I had a print out of the page from the website. He grabbed one from the back, then went to look for the rebate form. He couldn't find it so we went to the computer terminal they have set up and he tried to find the rebate on the staples site to print it out. Couldn't find any, only the ones that ended 12/15. I pointed him in the direction of the page I printed out earlier. After looking at it and searching the website some more he broke down and gave me the $15 off at the register. Wouldn't let me use the $10 off coupon so I'm out the door having paid $26 incl. tax. I'll probably try to send in $10 rebate so that would bump me to $16. Not bad

I had the same problem with the memory rebate coupon. The manager checked his records, and said the coupon was okay because PNY had extended the promotion period. I have not verified this.

It certainly could through a wrench in the works for those who jumped on the promo earlier and this time too.

Well, I went back today to find out what's the deal with the coupon. The Manager does not look like he was in a good mood as he seemed piss dealing with this other customer. After a few minute, the salesperson that I was talking to came back from the manager and stated that the deal has been extended and I can use that coupon. I might go back one more time as the day shift manager is easier to deal with. Also will try and call staples rebate center to verify. But keep the flyer as I was told that if I get rejected for the rebate they will give me back the differenece.

I sent an Email to staples.com, and I received a reply saying
that if I can give my address, they will mail me the correct
rebate form, or if I have a fax number they can fax it to me.
I don't have a fax number, so.. I will have to wait for a while
to receive the rebate form.

You can also send email to support@staples.com or go to
their website, sending a web mail.

I also brought the page from the website as well as the print out of the incorrect rebate form with the $10 off $30 and headed to my local staples..
the sales I talk to has no problem letting me use the $10 off coupon, when I told him about the misprint on the rebate, she told me to wait and
went to the office...5 minutes later she came out and acknowledge the rebate from on the website is wrong and give me a couple of the correct
rebate from she printed out...may I add...she is very nice and on top of all the good communication, she is also really hot and pretty..

Well I just got off the phone from the staples rebate and the csr I spoke with said that I can go ahead and send in the rebate form that I received. I'll just put a note in that I spoke with the Store mgr and with staplesrebates.com.

Anyone have a scan of the correct rebate form?

sleepdragon,
Do you have the correct $15 mail in rebate?
If yes, can you scan and post it?
Thanks

Link for correct rebate coupon at Staples.com

http://www.staplesrebates.com/weblo...otionDetails?bundleId=244340&promoCd=01-44998

When I send in for my rebate, I will send BOTH the $10 correctly dated coupon & the just expired $15 coupon from the internet, along with a copy of Staples ad & printout from staples.com, both of which show a $15 rebate offer. Although my bill at Staples was later adjusted by $5 because of the $10 coupon, I will use the original invoice which shows the price I was supposed to pay!

The worst that will happen is that I will only get a $10 rebate, & will pay the correct price for the 256mb ram.:frown:

But of course I used a 10 off 40 coupon & got the free after rebate surge protector to get over $40. And the CD wallet was a great bargain using the $10 off $10.:D

So, we're supposed to use the $15 rebate that ended on 12/15 because it got extended?
The website doesn't even have the $10 one that was scanned above.

FYI,
Staplesrebates.com is listing it as a $15.00 rebate for the 256MB, or a $10.00 rebate for the 128MB.
I filled my rebate form out online, printed the form, and my confirmation email stated that my $15.00 rebate was being processed.

enjoy

Just remember to keep a copy of the current circular so if you need to dispute it with your local B&M you have a hard proof.

Damm Staples shot me down on the $5.00 due to rebate coupon error.

Oh well, maybe I'll get lucky with the MIR.......

Got my 256mb ram for $15. Those sales people don't know squat about their ads. I walked up to the area they keep the memory and asked the sales guy if they had ram on sale...he said, don't know, we have a to sales circulars out right now. So, he and I went through the circulars and found the ram ad. The ad showed the 128mb piece...so the guy says..it looks only the 128 is on sale...but right under the pic in the ad...I pointed out that it says the 256 is on sale too. He says..ooh yeah..look at that. So he hands it to me. That was adventure number one...now off to adventure number 2! The cashier...she rang me up correctly and gladly accepted my $10 off $30 coupon and took the instant rebate off too. She then handed me the rebate form that said $10 off. I told her that the ad said it was $15 off rebate. She looked and looked and she couldn't find it. The manager came over and he looked as well. He finally says to the cashier..give him the $5 off now!!!..So, I got the $10 off $30...Instant rebate of $20...then antoher instant rebate of $5 and the MIR for $10. Total cost...$15...thats a great deal for 256mb ram.

Just spoke with a manager at the Staples Rebate center (877-266-6483). She said to go ahead and send in the expired rebate form (for 12/6-12/15 purchases) and it would be honored. Still, I don't trust these idiots.... I've already wasted 30 minutes of my life to potentially squeeze an extra $5 out of what would have been a sure-thing $10 rebate. Just my luck they'll kick out my $15 rebate in 6 weeks (after I've forgotten all about this) and I'll end up with $0. Then, if I'm lucky enough to remember and follow up with them, I'll have to waste another hour of my time convincing some fool to give me my $15. Ah, the life of a pessimist :)

Staples manager told me rebate period had been extended and to use the form that had expired.

Staples rebate website tells me: "We apologize for the misunderstanding, but your rebate is invalid because the product was not purchased within the dates specified by this promotion A postcard acknowledging your invalid reason will be mailed to you. ":|

web_scavenge, just call the rebate center. I did that and without even much of a question, she went ahead an approved it for me. Just gave her the rebate tracking number and she did the rest. I check the web page again in 10 min and it's pending approval.

Actually, I just check and the check is on it's way. I only called about a week or so ago. So they are definitely honoring this.
