Hm...I guess the crack baby episode might have made a bit more sense if I knew of this "Slash" person.
Off to Google I go.

how the fuck do you not know who Slash is?
Well he's apparently known for being in Guns'n'Roses, of which I know very little. I know they're a band, and that's about it.

It's really actually quite comfortable under this rock.

Yeah I also had absolutely no idea who they were talking about. Why would I know who Slash is? I used to listen to some GnR (not any more mind you ,I find them hackneyed and irritating more than anything). But even still, how would I know the names of the band members? I'm not a groupie, I only care about the music not the personal lives of the musicians.

He's part of pop culture. It's kind of like not knowing who David Hasselhoff or Seth McFarland is.

Regardless of how you feel about GnR, he is widely considered to be one of the very best guitar players alive. It's precisely why he frontlined Guitar Hero III Legends of Rock in 2007 (the first one with real guitarists). All the kids know who he is because of this.

No one watched City "shitty" Sushi?

I LMAO'd a lot of times.. I was surprised it was accepted by the FCC.. without any bleeps.

I enjoyed the crazy twist, but I can only take so much fake asian accents. It's OK in small doses, a whole episode is overkill.
I always enjoy Butters!

I laughed a bit more toward the beginning, but it started getting old. No effort was put into making Butters funny this episode. Usually, every other Butter's line is comedy gold. i.e. TMI episode "It's a little chilly in here." "I'm hung like a horse."

the FCC has no control or jurisdiction over cable tv.

He probably meant S&P, but the "It Hits the Fan" episode implies that the FCC has been OK with that particular word for years. Also, the show also airs reruns on UPN/TheCW. Last I checked a few years ago, the only censored parts were the pooping from the mouth and the Muhammed thing. I doubt they've played any of the recent seasons on broadcast. I believe Matt and Trey are specifically trying to make it unmarketable to broadcast networks because they didn't like the terms before. Perhaps they got no royalties for that, which is why David Duchovony left The X-Files when Fox started playing it on FX.

Yeah, I got it, but it didn't work. A bit too obscure.

So this is a bit late, but I had another revelation about the funnybot episode. In addition to being inspired by the daleks from Dr. Who, funnybot was even more closely related to Nomad from the Star Trek episode The Changeling.

"Non sequitur."

I realized this as my wife and I were going through all the old Star Trek episodes and came across this one. Kinda made the funnybot episode a bit better in retrospect.
