Got this stupid humanities class I'm taking and the assignment is basically the following: From the time you were born, up until the present, find like 5 or 6 events with some of them being worldwide events/local(not too fussy here really) and some personal (obviously I have to do the personal ones myself) that in some way affected your life.

FYI, I was born September 10, 1982 (that's today btw and I'm 20😀)

This events should have affected me in some way or else I can relate to them, basically anything. Need childhood (5-8), adolscence (9-13), young adult (14-17), and adult (18-?). I'm not gonna do the world trade center because it kinda sucks having a birthday near something so sad.

challenger explosion was on my birthday... i was at the outdoor learning center in katy, tx for a school field trip... we had cupcakes...

gulf war started... it was a wednesday, i was at basketball practice. i came out, got in the front of the mini-van, my mother tells me we're at war.

can't just use my experiences, can you?

Can someone educate me about "homeless vets" ? Why were the war veterans homeless after the war?

Our neighborhood has a style of home called "Levitt" and they were basically smaller style homes quickly built (in large numbers) specifically for war veterans who had no home to come back to. WHY?

I'm assuming you are in North America. If so, I think NAFTA has been a big one as well.
