It looks like the new SN27P2 (http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SN27P2.asp) supports the 7950GX2 Monster.

Here's a link to shuttle's complete system build based on the SN27P2 ... and the 7950GX2 is an option!
http://sys.us.shuttle.com/BuildXPC.aspx?id=1176

There are also some reports that the new soon to be released Conroe Compatable Shuttle, the SD37P2, will also support it. Look for Navicaph's post, a known shuttle employee, in the following thread: http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/forums/viewthread/92339/

Whoo Hoo! This is going to be a warm winter!

SN27P2 or SD37P2 (All dependant on if Conroe or X2 is the fastest CPU $400 can buy)
Pair of Gig DDR2-800 sticks.
Segate 750GB
7950GX2
Shuttle DVD Writer (if you are going for the looks .... which I am...)

........ I really hope Nvidia will fix HDR + AA though ... otherwise much of this card's power will be wasted in current games on my display.

So Didly...
Can you recommend a MB, case, and PS that will fit into a chassis (L x W x H) 320 x 210 x 220 (12.6" x 8.3" x 8.7")?

TIA

Check Six,
Shakespeare

PS When one is gaming at a LAN party, with limited space, in the dark, no one will see the small ugly "no nothing" box. Just $.02 to ponder.

Yup no style at all ...

A self built gaming PC where everything fits in my backpack for LANs, looks great on my desk, quiet, and doesn't shoot out rainbow colors; how could I be so stupid? I should get a full tower, because the chicks really dig all the handles, windows, and flashing lights.

Sorry Dude. I'm a gamer and a PC enthusiast, but I also enjoy entertaining at my apartment. Yes, I spend a bit more for a nice looking setup. However if you ever start decorating your place ... you'll see that it's a small price to pay for a nice looking setup.

On a side note, I've steered clear of Shuttle brand in the past because I used to think they were overpriced compared with other SFF vendors. Unfortunately they are the only ones left. I've been custom building SFF systems (for easy LAN party transport) for the last 3 years. Once people see the travel benefits of SFF they don't want the ugly tower. I've only had one person insist on a tower in the last two years. For others I almost always build with the Q-Pack or AnthenTech MicroATX cases due to the cost premium of the Shuttles and BioStars. I just prefer spending a little more on the Shuttles for my personal system.

hmm... if you wanted a portable gaming system why not get a ....... gaming notebook ?

Dont talk to me about money, because everyone that sees your ugly SFF knows that the only reason you have it is because you're too cheap to get a nice gaming notebook. And let me guess.... when you go to the lan party, do you carry a 19" screen in your purse ?

SFF = gay

P.S. dont even dare to speak about my dream machine, it's not even in the same universe as any pathetic SFF. It looks mean and impressive, quiet yet powerful, an engineering marvel.....

Sounds to me like someone is intentionally trolling here

Sounds exactly like a Shuttle (or most other SFFs)

Not getting a notebook has more to do with my 27" LCD monitor that I use while at home. I've got a geargrip case for a 17" LCD that I take to LANs. SFF, kb, mouse, and cables in the backpack. LCD in one hand. One hand free to work doors. (Working on a carrying system for my 27" LCD)

I was anxiously waiting Dell's 20" widescreen portable XPS. I was hoping for SLI and Conroe ... Unfortunetly the final product is unimpressive.

Ugly? ... ha don't think anyone sees a clean looking SFF and thinks ugly. Boring quite certainly. Ugly, I've never heard anyone but you describe it as such.

I'm not knocking your box ... just stating that it's not the style I want. Why you feel the need to thread crap... why even lurk the SFF/Notebook forum at all?

yeap, SFF especially the shuttles are boring/plain looking, rather than ugly. They are just so pathetic. It would be much better to buy a gaming laptop with a 19" screen like the one I linked previously (see alienware, voodoo, velocity, falcon, etc). Of course it would cost more but it would be infinetly more cool and also better in many ways (easier to carry, not having to carry a separate monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers, quieter, better looking, more stylish, etc). It's a mistery to me why would anyone buy a shuttle, unless they are broke...

Obviously you haven't read the previous post then and are just thread crapping. No notebooks out there with a large format monitor. In my case a 27" LCD. 95% of the time I'm at home. No reason to be stuck on a 19" laptop monitor most of the time. And why spend the money on a 19" laptop when most of the time I don't need it to be portable? When I do need to move it, I like the Shuttle size over the q-pack.

Actually, I've always felt that you only build a q-pack if you can't afford to properly outfit a Shuttle sized system.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree about the choices I've made that have zero effect on you.

I'd apreciate it if you don't continue to crap in my SFF threads.

OK so you're saying spend a mint on a laptop that in 3 quarters will be mainstream and in 6 quarters will be behind the curve with no way to user replace to get a faster processor or video chipset.

Can you suggest desktop alternatives to the Shuttle?

What ???? fact is that a current high end laptop with 7900 GT level GPU will be easily able to run ANY game at 1280x1024, including future games. Yeah, faster laptops will be available but your gaming laptop will still be a powerful gaming platform for a very very long time (like 3 years, duh!). Because not that many PCs (even desktops) have this kind of graphics performance. So you'll get at least a few years of good gaming performance from this laptop, certainly good enough for a lan party. And lets face it, people that only have a single machine are living in the past, like someone above that said that if you have a laptop you can't have a desktop with a big screen ?

Pretty ironic statements coming from somebody who is actually proud of owning a metallic green X-Alien case. Not EVERYBODY wants to look like a 12 year old picked out their computer for them, you know.
