New Shuttle AK31A / xp1800+ or Refurb EPOX 8KHA+ / xp1700+ ???

These appear to be close in price right now, BUT..... I'm considering a AK31A/XP1800+ combo for $179. This would make the board about $40 based on Pricewatch for OEM CPU. I read a helluva lot about the EPOX here so I'm wondering if it's worth the extra $$ in this situation.

they are both good boards, and either one should work fine for you

the epox is probably a little bit faster, and also a little better for overclocking though


 
I went for the 8hka+ reburb mainly because I already had an alpha 8045 and didn't want to mod it, also I need the extra usb ports which I would have had to pay for the add on card with the shuttle. My refurb was like new with all retail components but your mileage may vary. Most of us have gotten lucky but there are a few that have gotten an obvious refurb.
