So I had my previous pair of Timberland's for > 4 years. And I wore them at least 5 days a week for 8-10 hours a day.

A giant hole in one of them finally convinced me to get some new shoes.

Bought new 9.5's, same size as my previous pair, but more of a dress shoe but still thick cushion thick bottom heel. Snug but comfy, until the end of the first day my dogs were barking. End of the second day, I had to take them off because I couldn't walk in them back to my car to drive home.

Exchange for 10's of same type. Comfy and almost a little too roomy, almost slipping off in the back heel. End of second day for these pair, and my feet hurt again. Not as bad as the 9.5's, but still bad. In particular my right foot, which I think must be bigger than my left foot.

It's been so long since I bought new shoes, I've forgotten are they suppose to hurt? Break-in period?

I had almost the same problem last year. Same boots for a long time, the bottom of the shoe fell off one day while walking, so I had to get a new pair. My entire left leg hurt for like 4 days when I had those new shoes but after that they broke in great. Maybe we are just too used to our comfy ones we've had for years. Give it a week

Yes. No offense, but, how do you not realize that? Especially if you're on your feet for 10 hours a day.

Sorry, I guess if it was especially painful you might chalk it up to being wrong size or fit.

Yes, every shoe has a wear in period. Some more than others. Your have to let the leather shape to your leg.

PS I avoid buying shoes with stiff leather at the heel. I can never wore them out.

PPS Buying quality shoes is so damn hard. I hate when I have to buy new pair, I swear to god, girls have easier time picking up new shoes than I do.

I once bought a new pair of shoes the day before I went to Disneyland. Damn that was a frigging mistake.
