Hmmm, the app looks great. I installed it on a pentium 4 (SSE3) and a 300 hour astropulse will be done in less than 120 hours ... :D

I have looked at some of my numbers ...

With the standard astropulse app on a AMD 64 x2 5000+ the WUs took anything between 145 000 sec - 155 000 seconds (looked at 12 WUs).
With the SSE3 optimized app the same kind of astropulse WUs on the same processor takes between 43 000 - 45 000 seconds (looked at 6 WUs).
That is a gain of 70% in time and gives the same number of cobblestones ...

The downside is a 3 - 4 degees C higher CPU-temp: standard app: 51 - 52 degress C, with optimized app: 55 - 56 degrees C.
I can take that, because that is still well below the maximum (70 degrees C).
I am very happy :D

My pending credits have increased from approx. 37K-38K to just now 57K.

Is there a detailed step by step installation instruction URL out there?

This.

I have a few machines up, but I am nowhere near the level you are.

sorry, missed the question before dajeepster. I never installed the cuda optimization, but I think that it will run it anyway if it's able to, right? It's not running it on my computer right now, however, since I just checked and the gtx 260 is downclocked to 300/100... :|

Ttt for the 10yr race :).

Btw Bryan v5.0x is for Astropulse, v8 is for SETI. You can answer your own question in your 1st post now ;).

Please note, that all the optimized apps make the CPUs run a few ºC warmer - in some cases up to 5-6ºC warmer. Good cooling is very necessary!

I'm only getting about a 20-30% increase with the optimized client on my older machines (Pentium/Celeron 4 and Pentium D), but that's still a decent boost. My Core 2 Duo machines haven't been running the optimized client long enough to tell yet. :)

Hi mate :), they'll get a bigger boost

To anyone who has tested they o/ced rig with P95 or OCCT then optimised SETI apps will seem like a cooling app .
