Top Gear is the best car-related show in the world for a reason:

It's informative, well done, funny, etc. ...

and your hosts are three guys who were originally trained to be a violinist, a newspaper reporter and a radio DJ.

I love watching it on BBC America!

i'm amazed at the freedom of speech displayed by that program. here in america, with our Freedom of Speech, we simply cannot say such things. they do get their share of crap from people offended by everything under the sun, but non-commercial funding insures there are no sponsors to shy away from adults conversing in an adult manor.

Man the jet fighter race looks insane - I thought it would be a straight sprint to the end of the runway, and the jet would kick arse, but no. From the top gear site:

See, when Jeremy raced Richard and James across Europe - him in a Veyron and the other two in a washing-machine-with-a-propellor-on-the-front - a few of the boys from the RAF got a bit upset that it wasn't a fair fight.

They had a point, in fairness - the finest piece of automotive engineering in history versus a clattery Cessna 182 was only ever going to end one way.

So the RAF offered up their base for a proper race: a two-mile sprint between the Veyron and a jet fighter.

That's a mile to the end of the runway and back for the Veyron, while the jet plane - being able to fly and all - had to go a mile straight up in the air and then, well, a mile straight back down again.
