So whats the best gaming headphones that I could wear say 8 hours straight ? I was gonna order wireless but then thought about all the interception problems.. =\

For headphones you can wear long-term, I would DEFINITELY look at an open-air set like the HD 5xx/6xx series if you can swing it (Newegg used to have an amazing price on them before they realized the demand and kicked it back up). The HD590s you can usually find on clearance because they're supposedly , but they're still pretty pricey for headphones. The open configuration ensures excessive pressure doesn't build up in the element chamber but minutely effects the "quality" of the sound - hence the fact that a lot of recording professionals use closed-phones for mastering and opens for general-use.

But really, any open-air headphones are definitely going to be more comfortable than a closed set. Those damn things give me headaches like no one's business when I wear them too long-term.

The HD580s are supposedly now not being produced anymore. The HD600s are really just minutely-upgraded 580s, and the 570 is more tuned for music but still sounds ten times better than the average set of store-bought cans. The HD590 (supposedly another hard-to-find, but newer model than the 580), was made in response to people who wanted the sound quality of the 580s but didn't necessarily want to spend $500+ on a decent headphone amplifier to do so.

Btw, are there any wireless cans that are capable of working w/o interference?

If these things are as good as everyone says they are, then this is a steal. Newegg wants $74 after shipping for them.

I ordered a pair because my mic sucks, and so do my headphones.

Missed the bargain countdown last night but there was ANOTHER ONE today. I got in with Qty: 1 left 😀

What other good deal they have for under $10? I want to buy the hd202 for $17 but it does not qualify for free shipping.
Thanks.

don't forget to keep your receipt too... cuz sennheiser's warranty policy SUCKS! they need you to have your receipt or there's no way they'll let you use their warranty.
The cable was poorly built, it's hard for it to get a clean signal.. i always have to move it around a bit at the place where it plugs into the headphones, or the sound wouldn't go through... I even had them replaced(cost $15 fvcking dollars)...
Well I'm pissed off with the quality of my HD-497.... sure they sound amazing... but the build quality and the warranty sucks!

Yor are possibly not the first to complain about their warranty policy, but you are the first one I have seem not satisfied with their product.

has anyone ordered these yet? how good are they? how loud?

how does the cord from the headset hook into the computer, since it has both audio and mic?

how well are they built?

Just wondering how long the cord is. I have some headphones and I need the cord to be about 6 feet (~2 meters) long to really not be worried about yanking the cord from the back of my comp while I play games. I had a pair of open air 490's and they sound great, and are comfy, but the cord broke and I am too lazy to replace it. I also need a mic and this headset looks to be nice.

lol. You wouldn't be able to hear 44khz anyway don't worry about it. hehe

The human ear can only handle 20-20khz approximately and even that very barely at the extremes.

The 44khz in games and such means bandwidth, not the highest freq. it produces. ok say for example just to make the figures easier to understand a game had 2000hz freq bandwidth, and you could only hear 1-1000hz. This would mean it had a resolution of about 0.5hz because for the entire audible band of 1000hz, it has "sliced it up" 2000 times. I hope you understand what I mean. Not easy to explain I guess.

Sennheiser appears to put 3 meter cords on all of their corded products. So, it should be much more than you want.

I haven't received mine yet, but I can answer a few questions.

It hooks up by having a Y-config. One cord leads to the elements, one to the mic. They operate over one wire but are separated.

Sennheisers are normally pretty well built. My HD580s have put up with a lot of abuse, but I DID have to replace the cable after about two years of use - not due to the build quality but moreso for the fact that my chair wheels kept running over it! The PC150s don't have replaceable parts, but IMO Senn build-quality on their higher-end products has always been top notch.

Well I just ordered the 130 model. I hate when I am purchasing something and do not go with the better specs because I stare at it for 3 hours and then finally hit the buy button. I got mine for nearly half the price of the 150. The specs on the 130 are 30hz-18khz unlike the 150 which are 18hz-22Khz but I really doubt it can make much of a difference. See, it isn't going to effect me but I still waste a ton of time feeling guilty that I am not buying the better of the two. Anyway, I did not want to buy the 150 because the closed air design as you call it hurts my ears after a while. I guess one good thing is that it blocks out the surounding sound but in my case, I do not like that.

The 150 has a closed ear design? Meaning it isolates noise? SWEET!

I ordered them already and i didn't even know that.
