The wired article I had linked before had examples of what they wanted to do with search. It's not up to snuff yet though. When entered "WW2 battleships" or "ww2 generals" I got no results.

cool, it recognizes bragg's equation and ask for a wavelength input. this definitely beats programming a calculator.
