Tell me about it- I have chronic GERD and the stuff kills me, but I can't give it up 😀

I'm surprised by this. Generally ginger is considered to be good for the stomach.

If anyone ever makes it up to the Traverse City, Michigan area there is a local soda company that makes a fantastic ginger soda. It burns a little going down the ginger is so strong. Northwoods Wild Ginger. It's also only like 55 calories per bottle if a recall correctly.

I wish they sold this around here...

They carry it at my local Costco, usually during the winter months, it seems (I first noticed it last winter).

I bought a case last time I was there. It's definitely not my favorite ginger beer, but it's better than many I've had.

Bundaberg is also carried by BevMo, $5.99/4 pack with card.

What I can't find in SoCal is Seagrams diet Ginger Ale.

I haven't had a Vernor's in years, but drink it from time to time when I do drink it.

Right now I drink mostly good tea, Dr Thunder, or diet Barq's.

Carbonated drinks in general set it off, and some ginger ales are extra carbonated. If I keep up on my proton blockers, I'm good 🙂

Hold on....hold on....I just discovered mixing that stuff with Gentleman Jack. I might not be able to post much longer....

That's called an Irish Mule, where with vodka it's a moscow mule.

funny how that trendy mix is making Ginger Beer so popular now

not a fan of ginger ale but i bought some raspberry flavored the other day since it was on sale and its damn good.

OK, I'm going crazy now. Added Evan Williams Apple Orchard to that ginger beer. IT TASTES LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!

That brand is okay, but nothing stands up to

I have tried pretty much every brand out there, most are either too weak or they just dump a bunch of ginger in there so it's like OJ with tons of pulp, C&B is a perfect balance right out of the bottle or as a mixer.

I respectfully disagree. I've tried probably 6-8 different brands of ginger beer, and Bundaberg is the best one by a long shot. It has a bit of a bite, but is easy to drink. Cock N Bull was fairly horrible and I couldn't/didn't want to finish the bottle.

I buy it by the 10 pack at world market. In fact, I'm out now and need to go get a couple more cases. It's the perfect hot summer day drink.

I like the sarsaparilla a lot, love the liquorice flavour. The Ginger beer is damn refreshing when it's hot out and has a nice bite, I've tried the Jamaican ginger beers and found they have a bit too much of a kick to it. I did a search and it doesn't appear to be sold in Ontario 🙁

I saw the first shipment of Schweppes Dark Ginger Ale while shopping yesterday.

I figured what the heck and bought a bottle. So far it is only available in 2L bottles.

It is quite dark almost like a dark beer. It tastes quite nice with a bit more bite to it but not as much as Vernors. It is also fairly sweet but not overpowering.

Overall it's a very nice drink and it should make for interesting mixes.

:awe:

Finally found some in the store today, not bad, got a good bite to it, a bit sweeter than Bundaberg from what i remember

Love me a good cream soda.
And good rootbeer too.

Damn I'm going to buy shit right now.
Get me some frackin cookies while I'm at it.

thread jack, but does anyone know where can I find Schewepp's Cream soda?

According to my brief Googling, maybe try an east-Asian grocery. It's sold at T&T here in Canada.

Speaking of obscure sodas, I'm enjoying one of these bad boys right now.

It's supposed to be an "Italian" soda, but it's made in Toronto and only sold in Canada. Sweeter than traditional Chinotto. It's not for everyone, but I enjoy it.

I like Brio better than Chinotto as well...but give me Aranciata

I have never tried SanPellegrino. What's it like?

I saw it at Metro and was wondering if it was any good.

It's San Pellegrino sparkling water flavoured with fruit juice. It's pretty good. The Blood Orange one is my favourite. They have a traditional chinotto that's less sweet than Brio. I don't mind it but it's definitely an acquired taste.
