New Sandra Errata?

Hey,

There's a new version of Sisoft Sandra out. It is supposed to fix Win2k compatability issues.

I d/l it out of boredom(i personally place little faith in sandra, but I like using it to test memory bandwith).

Wiht the old demo version, my memory scores were 410/478(150fsb, Via 133A mb, Crucial Cas2 PC133).

With the new version, i'm getting 424/505.

http://www.sisoftware.demon.co.uk/san_dem/html/dload.htm a link to get the new version.

Can anybody else confirm the higher scores in the new version? I supposedly beat an intel 1ghz with PC800 RdRam, and am pretty close to a KT133 equipped athlon 1ghz(t-bird?). Those are 2 of the new ref. systems, with the other 2 being a celeron 600 and duron 700.

Thanks in advance!

Mike

Yeah, that version is weird. My CPU and multimedia scores went down, but I still beat a 1ghz P3 with PC800 on an i820 chipset. Sounds fishy to me. It does seem to give you some new info in the motherboard and chipset info modules though...

Same thing happened to me (Celeron 566@875).After this I don't think I'll trust Sandra again in the future.I'll use it only to compare my own systems results in order to improve performance. As for the Rambus results they seem natural.Even Intel admitted that SDRAM+BX is faster than RDRAM+i810.
