New round of ethnic cleansing in Iraq

I just came across this item: (CNN story). We now have a fresh round of ethnic cleansing, this time targeting Christians rather than Sunni or Shi'a. What will it take for the Iraqi government to intervene?

edit: apparently is Iraqi government has started setting up police patrols in the Christian areas, but not until after the problem reached the point of a mass exodus of Christians from the city.
