I'm planning on building a new rig, I need help deciding what would be best for a budget of twelve-hundred dollars. I will be needing a motherboard, processor, video card, and memory. Thank in advance for all of the great advice!

Gamer?

Overclocker?

So you already have the case, PSU, RAM, hard drive, sound card, kb/mouse, speakers?

RAM: 2 GB [ DDR2 800
Motherboard: depends on if you overclock

I don't plan on overclocking.

I'm an avid gamer, but I don't plan on overclocking, and I already have the following:
Antec Super Lanboy Case
Samsung 997DF CRT Monitor (For FPS)
ViewSonic VP912b LCD Monitor
550W PSU
300GB WD HDD
Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 EX Sound Card
Logitech Media Elite Keyboard
Logitech G5 Mouse
Icemat Siberia Headset
Bose Companion 2.1 Speakers

7900 GT KO - good enough for the resolution
2 GB DDR2 800 - you don't realy need more then this right now
E6300 - cheap but will be fine for gaming
Motherboard - not sure which

If you're seriously interested in future-proofing, go SLI with two 7900GTs, and buy a bigger monitor later on so you can fully utilize your video setup.

I'd take the E6600. E6300 is more than enough, but E6600 would just give me a (perhaps false?) sense of security from being outdated quick.

2GB DDR2 800 is great as well.

This should match your budget within a few hundred dollars. Except for the monitor. you can get a good 20"-23" monitor for around $200-$300,
