New rig...

I am in high school (11th grade) and I take a Business Computer Applications class at another school. Since a friend and I are the only ones with real experience with anything there, he has asked us to pick out some parts to buy for a new rig that my friend and I would be putting together.

The computer will be used for basically anything we want. I was thinking of using it to help others in the class with learning a few things. The only thing we may not really be doing is gaming, since it is a class. So, I guess onboard video is fine for this specific computer.

My teacher said the price range would be $400-$500, but if it could go cheaper, then that is of course better. We do not need a monitor, mouse keyboard or any of that extra stuff. We only need the case and everything inside it.

So, do you guys have any suggestions?

Slap the instructor and get him to double your budget.

Without needing all the extras such as monitor and not needing a good video card, I think that budget is fine. He was also just giving that as an estimate.
