This is the new rig I ordered from Monarch today:

Athlon 64 4000+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E (Venice)
DFI Lan Party UT Ultra-D (non-SLI...I am not a big gamer)
1GB OCZ PC5000 (625) EL Dual Chan. Plat.
WD 74GB
Power Color X800 XL 256MB
OCZ 520W PowerStream PSU

Still looking for:

Excellent heatsink for OC'ing...thinking about Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu...or should I water-cool?

I already have:

Dell 2001FP
Lian Li PC-76 Server Case

Anybody have any comments? Suggestions? :D

Hi, welcome to AF :)

All parts look good, and the Zalman 7700 heatsink, as suggested by CalvinHobbes would make a great addition to your list.

You play a lot of games? What about going up a level on the video card? Just a thought... Rest looks awesome.

It might help if you tell us your current system and games you play. Might help everyone here provide better suggestions, should you care for some...

system looks very powerfull, but I'd get some more storage... maybe even a cheap 120 gb WD to keep your files.

Quick change:

I decided to change my order to MSI K8N NEO4 Platinum and Crucial Ballistix 3200.

@C.H.: Yes, I am getting Zalman 7700....it will fit.

@Gregom: No...don't do much gaming. But needed the dual DVIs....

@narc: Got plenty of storage already. This was just for the "system" part.

Anyone know how to change e-mail address on accounts here in AT? I joined this forum in 2000...and would like to get my "finely-aged" account back...

It's either MSI or Gigabyte. I currently have a MSI board for a Athlon XP and I like it...

Is Monarch building this for you, or are you going to build it yourself?

As for the MB, I would go with the MSI Neo4.

Drop the RAM to value ram if you're not planning to overclock and don't care about a less than 5% improvement in performance for twice as much money.
You won't notice any difference in performance with that raptor. Except that you have less drive space than you could have bought and the noise.

@Ike0069: I am building it myself.

@ChosonMan: Plan to overclock a bit...so hence the Ballistix.

@ExarK...: Why 3800+ San Diego?

Fair enough :)

Some people just come in here expecting to pay over $2000 on a basic computer and don't realize they can get a very nice system for under $1000.
