good choices, and good deals. maybe NEC 3500A instead of BENQ? Anandtech seems to live the NEC.

That Benq drive is solid. I would get it over Nec 3500A. I prefer +R media and Benq 1620 is one of the best when using +R and Booktype. NEC 3500A has bias towards -R media.

If you are looking to save a some dough, try pricing other sites other than Newegg. You might find other reputable sites that give better deals.

Cheers!

With NF4 around the corner I'd be a bit hesitant at building a new rig with your budget. You might as well pick up a Socket754 board and save a few bucks if you are going A64- AGP's death certificate is already written out, any 939 or 754 board available is a dead end product. When your vid card is your bottleneck, which will likely happen long before your processor, you are SOL. Of course, that rig will be very sweet for some time, it's certainly a very nice configuration for the dollar and not bad by any means, I'm simply saying that I would flinch with a major change happening very shortly(NF4 should be shipping in weeks).

Yeah theres lots of big talk about this new chipset. So would it be smarter to wait for a the new NF4? and is that all i need to wait for?

looks like a good PC, but dont you think spending 50% of the money on a video card is a bit much.

With my price range should I really wait for NF4? I won't be using pci-e and/or SLi. I would find it quite pointless to spend an extra 50-70 dollars for something i won't use. What do you guys think?

Won't now or won't ever? If you know you never will then don't bother waiting for NF4. Know that you will not have a viable upgrade option if you don't wait however, AGP is quickly being phased out particularly at the high end. If you wait and do go NF4 SLI then you have a wide variety of upgrade options open to you. Pretty much- if you don't plan on upgrading your new rig you can just grab a socket 754 board and save yourself money over the 939 offering, if you do plan on upgrading your new rig then hold out for NF4.
