new rig build, would like some recommendations...

i've been out of the loop for a couple of years and while my opty 165 is a great performer, it's getting "long in the tooth". after reading cpu reviews, i'm going back to intel w/e8500. it will be liquid cooled as i am a die hard o/c 😉 . i also want to keep my pair of evga ssc 9600gt's. this may be a dumb question but do motherboards that support cross fire are sli compatible as well? i'd like a serious o/c board with an intel chipset. is there one? all i seem to hear about is intel chipped boards supporting cross-fire. didn't amd buy out ati? 😕

The only Intel Chipset that supports both X fire and SLI is the X58 chipset so far... that I know of.

Wait, i think their was something about running a skull train platform that did it too. Look into that. Sorry I don't have any more info on that...

Yeah...Skull trail. Dual cpu's and $600.00+. Both crossfire & sli compatible. If I don't win the lottery tonight, I'll have to pass on this one 😉.
