My new rig:
E6400, eVGA 8800 gts 320Mb, 965P-DS3 Gygabyte MoBo, 2 harddrives, 1 pci wireless card.

New PowerSupply TAG (the one with the 550W) tag Asembling my new rig, after all was ready realized that my old Powersuply had a 20 PIN config, and my new one was 24 PIN.

Went and bought a new Power supply (550W), got this one cause it's the only one available where I live (just no name brands), BUT read somewhere that in order to run a system as my new one I needed 12V rails with 26 AMPs at least, and if you see the tag, max AMP for the 12V is 22A, I don't know if this "26 amp" number is true.

I finally tried it, and every fan was spinning but got no POST screen (I was warned that this might happen (see first reply)) , reset the CMOS (shorting the pins in the mobo and removing the battery), but got same results . . .

Brought some cheapo memory from my pc at work, but did not started (have read that some memory required 2.0V to run and PS3 is set deafult at a lower setting)

Could the power supply be the source of my problems?

Since I cannot get a decent regular power supply around here (not in the USA) nor in the internet, Could I try to get a server power supply (never seen one before but) my guess is one PS for server should be rated for a lot more wattage and therefor provide the power I require . . . IS THIS CORRECT?? COULD SUCH A PS FIT MY CASE ?? (A Tsunami Dream - Thermaltake)

Any help is very much welcomed . . .since I'm stucked with a brand new rig a cannot use . . .

Thx

PS: Just after posting found out that I can probably get either : Thermaltake toughpower W0103RU 600W Power Supply or maybe Thermaltake W0093RU TR2 Series 500W for a little less $$, no Other name brand what so ever available around here . . . ANY COMMENTS PLS??

22amps doesnt cut it on the 12V rails for that Gfx card sorry to say. I may have read that wrong from that PSU tag but your gonna need something with at least 30 amps on the 12V rails to allow your system to run well. As many have said before on these and other forums, dont skimp on the PSU it powers and protects your investment.

Try to get something in the 500-600 range with the Seasonics and specifically the Corsairs Hr520 or the Hr620 witch are basically Seasonics. I recomend that PSU becauase I have one. Stay away from antec smart powers-HEs seem fine and dont waste your time with anything that costs less then 60 bucks since you do get what you pay for.

Using a crappy psu is like putting a yugo engine into a rolls. Sure it fits but why the hell would you do it.

I assume you can have 3 or 4 12v rails each at 18 each and meet those specs... which is what many manufacturers are doing now... but that tags shows only one... which is odd considering they claim 550W

Just read your Edit: That toughpower 600 has more than enough amps on the 12V rail to work for you-48 amps =good

you dont have to overpay for something over 120 bucks if you dont plan on going sli in the future. There is alot in the 90-120 segment that will have a good warranty and enough power to run in the 75-80 percent at load wich will give you best results based on power efficiency. Check the Hot deals forums and the sale items on newegg and the other e-tailers. I got a 520 Corsair for 90bucks a few weeks ago and there was a toughpower 750 for sale at frys last week.buy.com also has some decent deals ocasionally.

Just got in touch with the supplier and only has in stock: (pls take a look! and Keep in mind these are the ONLY decent PS available where I live)

W0093RU OR FOR 50$ MORE W0104RU obviously the latter is better, but would it be overkill for my system?? (Not planning to overclock at all, or going SLI for that matter . . .) Would I be fine with the first on (W0093RU)?

Thx for your comments!

The TT 500 should be fine for your needs. A quick check of the UL number on it reveals that it is made by Channel Well Technologies (CWT) which is a quality PSU maker. The Toughpower version is also made by CWT, but with higher grade caps. Since you are not OC or running SLI, I would probably just go with the Purepower 500 unless you can find a Seasonic, Corsair, or OCZ unit.
