My new rig:
E6400, eVGA 8800 gts 320Mb, 965P-DS3 Gygabyte MoBo, 2 harddrives, 1 pci wireless card.
New PowerSupply TAG (the one with the 550W) tag Asembling my new rig, after all was ready realized that my old Powersuply had a 20 PIN config, and my new one was 24 PIN.
Went and bought a new Power supply (550W), got this one cause it's the only one available where I live (just no name brands), BUT read somewhere that in order to run a system as my new one I needed 12V rails with 26 AMPs at least, and if you see the tag, max AMP for the 12V is 22A, I don't know if this "26 amp" number is true.
I finally tried it, and every fan was spinning but got no POST screen (I was warned that this might happen (see first reply)) , reset the CMOS (shorting the pins in the mobo and removing the battery), but got same results . . .
Brought some cheapo memory from my pc at work, but did not started (have read that some memory required 2.0V to run and PS3 is set deafult at a lower setting)
Could the power supply be the source of my problems?
Since I cannot get a decent regular power supply around here (not in the USA) nor in the internet, Could I try to get a server power supply (never seen one before but) my guess is one PS for server should be rated for a lot more wattage and therefor provide the power I require . . . IS THIS CORRECT?? COULD SUCH A PS FIT MY CASE ?? (A Tsunami Dream - Thermaltake)
Any help is very much welcomed . . .since I'm stucked with a brand new rig a cannot use . . .
Thx
PS: Just after posting found out that I can probably get either : Thermaltake toughpower W0103RU 600W Power Supply or maybe Thermaltake W0093RU TR2 Series 500W for a little less $$, no Other name brand what so ever available around here . . . ANY COMMENTS PLS??
