New rifles give Army snipers in Afghanistan needed range

I thought the new sniper rifle for the US Army as the M110? Basically the main reason was that they wanted semi auto fire through a detachable mag. I think the M110 was like a SR-25 based weapon in 7.62x51.

Now I'm reading the Wiki page on the M24 and it still mentions the M110 but it also looks like they're going ahead with this reconfig of the M24 as the XM2010. I guess they want it for very long range engagements while the M110 is better for urban use due to being semi auto.

No, in the US I don't think there's many courses that are absolutely required to graduate, my school had no physics class, hell we didn't even have anything above pre Algebra for math.

No wonder most countries scored ahead of the states in recent academic ratings.
