Someone must have canceled a "first responder" pledge somehow, I just got one, was showing as 1 / 5000 available.

I'd be tempted to give more, but I hate the whole concept of "pledge more and get an in-game house!"

Last day to kick in. Actually only about 16 hours left I think. It's broken $1.5m funding... personally I'd like to see it hit the $1.6m stretch goal, but meh.

I do find it cool that Chris Roberts is putting in a little tidbit for kickstarters at the $50+ level. Maybe me smile fondly of what they did in Ultima VII...

There is a big red check next to the $1.6million stretch goal.

There is a big red check next to the $1.6million stretch goal. Doesn't look like it will hit $1.6, but it looks like they are going through with those stretch goals.

$25k away from $1.6m right now... they'll hit it. 🙂 But you're right anyway.

I was just amused since the ships were - as limited as they were - one of the coolest things I liked about Ultima VII.

Edit: $1.613m now. 🙂 Ships are a done deal. Maybe we'll see $1.7m and dynamic resources for crafting stretch hit before this is done.

2 hours to go and $1.8m surpassed - which is cool, that tier looks like it has some neat features. Frankly the $1.9m stretch is pure fluff. The $2m tier looks useful, but I doubt we'll make it.

I was thinking of going for the $80 for three game level instead of the $30 level, but not quite convinced about it. It's already 1.5 years for episode 1.

I did notice when I considered grabbing one of the $25 instead of the $30 as they opened up, that it said 'Donation $30 Reward $25'.

Does that mean you can't lower the amount without cancelling and starting over on kickstarter?

after Tabula Rasa I'm not spending any more money of Rich Garriotts projects, I pre ordered game looked awesome but fizzled leaving me a few hundred down on his pay per month beta test of bugginess

still it did have promise, however broken

TR wasn't entirely Garriott's fault. NCSoft screwed him over big time, basically taking his ability to produce the game about half way through its development and rushing it out the door (aka: Ultima IX?). By the time TR got to the point of no return, Garriott was already essentially terminated by NCSoft - though they prefer to tell you he resigned.

I will admit, changing the script and fundamental aspects of what TR was in the first time about a half dozen times before anything even hit development was completely on Garriott though, and definitely didn't help his cause.

Well, this actually hit the 2 million mark (including the PayPal totals). Lets hope they do a good job of this one. Not really played the Ultima games much though, but know of their reputation.

Ahh so there is a hidden $100k directly from the sota website. Very cool! The castle/town stuff looks pretty interesting. Now to wait. 2014 is going to be a busy year for Pc gaming!

@splat_ed: if you enjoy RPGs I suggest giving U7 on gog.com a solid try. Just give it a few hours and you'll probably be hooked! (if you enjoy RPGs)

Yes! their total was 2.03 million combined from KS and the SotA website. It's a little crazy it gained ~500k in about a day. They will continue having potential pledging on their website, and still have a ton of time to flesh out some of their very conceptual ideas to get more feedback from the community. I doubt they'll do frequent videos because they've got work to do, but I imagine they will try to do them once a month, and just keep info on the forums.

Not just for a specific game, but I came to the conclusing that best not to play beta games or buy alpha/beta access as I get put down by the incomplete game. When it finally comes out, I have already played most of it, or worse, the parts I disliked (ie: get told it would be changed before release) are still in the game awaiting attention that will never come from the programmers.

no idea if anyone else noticed, but as I have bought into Star Citizen a while back and just noticed a email from them (dated two days ago) saying that any star citizen which also backed SotA would get a crossbow in SC.

I wonder how many of those people added to the rapid last day increase for SotA.
