Alright, I've got a friend who just spend way too much money on a PC from Best Buy. Where is a good place to get a Gaming rig with a good 3 yr warrenty? Is there anywhere else than dell to get a good price with warrenty? The Price Range is 2600 after rebates. But that must include a 21" LCD (I'm thinking that should be gotten from Dell anywho, and they don't have to be in the same deal... just both have to be covered.) I was looking at the Dell XPS... the build was about $3200, which I could probally cut down a bit with rebates and a millitary discount. He would probally go for that, but are there any alternitives? Sorry for the rambeling... and bad spelling. It's been a long day... Oh, and it has to be Windows Media Edition (don't ask me why). I hold prefrence with AMD 64 and NVidia GF6800 GT but I'm open to suggestions seeing how it's not my system (I build, warrentys be damned).

you wont need a warrenty if you build it yourself from quality components. is this rig for you or your friend? if he spent to much at best buy(which everybody does) why is he buying another pc?
my suggestion....
chinatech nf3/albratro kt800/asus nf3
a64 2800 754
1 gig stick of your choice brand memory
bfg/evga/gainward 6800gt

don't use windows media edition. why you need a gaming rig running wme is beyond me.

He want's the warrenty for mental peace. That's all it will ever buy you, but for some people it's worth the money... I not a fan of MCE, but he likes it so whatever. I could probally talk him out of that from what I've been reading. I'm just looking for a good retail place to buy it. He's still within the return period of the machine. But not for long... so any suggestions?

but not 3 year warrentys... most only have one. Besides, there's a lot less to worry about with a company... Trust me I've tried all the arguments.... He's not much of a computer hardware person...

building it would probably be a better idea unless you want to go with a 4600 or 400sc which will destroy anything in its price range for performance when there is a hot deal (which occurs at least once a month)

Seconded.

People like OP's friend are IMPOSSIBLE to build computers for. If they want the warranties, most likely they are novices (no offense) and will mess up the computer one way or the other. It's better for them to have just one company to deal with anyhow.
