AGP is backwards compliant so you will be ok. Usually I think this goes for around $320 so its not that bad a deal.

I don't think you can compare this with a Radeon 9000. Concidering a Radeon 8500 (now 9100) is a better performer then a 9000. The deal is hot for any brand of 9700 PRO. However I would check how fast the memory on the card is first before buying. The only difference would be if they used slower memory on this 9700 Pro. After that all 9700 Pro's are pretty much equal.

It doesn't matter. It's a retail box reference card which is the same as all the ones that ATI makes. They are all the same thing and it even runs at 325/310. I just bought an OEM FIC 9700 Pro card from NewEgg two weeks ago for $295 shipped so this is an EXCELLENT deal.

And the Radeon 9000 is crap compared to the 9700 Pro so why are you even bringing up that POS?

8x shouldnt really affect the performance of the radeon 9700 pro on your 4x computer.
I heard the difference is minimal.

In my book this is a decent deal from a reputable vendor for a real retail 9700 Pro. Plus, as is alluded to above, "Evil Commando 2" is a decent name for a video card. It's still a ton of money for a video card as far as I am concerned (you can get an entire computer for less than $291 at Staples), but it's less than you would spend at most other places to get this card.

from Agp 4X to 8X, you don't see that much benfits in games.
