New RETAIL e4300 139.99 @ the egg

Think its been at that price for a while hasnt it. Ewiz has it for similar price as well.. I dunno, not very hot considering they will be $113 in about 6 days... 🙂

Hope the OEM one will be cheaper because I bought an artic freezer pro!! 😀

newegg has free shipping, but i think the shipping for an oem e4300 at the same price from ewiz was ~$10

It may or may not be hot, but I was waiting for these to come around this price, so thanks for letting me know.

Gigabyte S3 or DS3, Asus P5B, anything with the p965 chipset is really good at o'c ing and pretty cheap too

You might want to check out some of the 650i boards too. I run the e4300 on the msi non platinum version and it is extremely stable at just shy of 3.4 on air with no heat issues and no voltage increase. I did do the 266 fsb pin mod on the chip. There are good reviews on the asus version too.

Competition is king. This is a tough choice, the X2 3600+ with the Tforce 550 is $142 + shipping at Newegg. I'm not in the market for either, but consumers are winning right now.

thats alot higher then average though. Its pretty tough to break the 3ghz with stock or any air for that matter.

And you say no heat issues but they run at load in 70C's. While this is safe it is so hot 🙁 That would heat the crap out of my room 🙁 I do want one but i think the 6300 is a better buy in 6 days atleast.

70c's is the upwards and 50C is the lower for load, with my luck i would get the 70C's 🙁
