had 2 Align Trex 700Ns 2 JR Vibe 50s and some smaller Trex's last year.. still have an Outrage Velocity 50.
good luck with the hobby it's fun but expensive.

BTW wouldn't fly that without some serious insurance or your AMA membership.
They have been known to cause property damage and kill/maim people.

I recommend only flying on private land or a designated RC field.

How long does the novelty of RC devices last? I had a cheap $200 RC plane and it was only so much fun. Flying it seemed fairly repetitive.

I am joining AMA, you are 100% correct, and with AMA you get insured. It seems well worth the membership for the insurance alone for the risks involved.

or watch this.. this is Tareq he flies for Outrage. this is the same sized heli as the OP has. just a more High Performance model.

Make good friends and have a reason to do something and it could last a lifetime.

Like anything, building fast computers, driving fast cars or riding fast motorcycles.

Having friends doing the same things always make it better.

With this hobby it is all about knowledge base for sure and freinds..

I made a ton of mistakes early on buying some really bad ebay Chinese helicopters that really put my learning in a bad way.

You chose well the Century is a good bird. parts will have to be ordered but they are available within the USA which is great.

if you do end up sticking with helis start looking at Aligns as the parts support is incredible. and just about every Hobby Shop in America stocks the parts.

Only if you stick to a basic trainer. I flew for 10 years before I quit. Partly due to a couple bad seasons that were costing me big bucks, mainly due to the insufferable internal politics of my club. I mean they had a diagnosed schizophrenic as the guy assigned to police club rules. Even after a violent freak-out on some of my friends, they still kept him on the executive. 🙄

I have a couple smallish helicopters I fly now. Just big enough to fly outdoors in my yard on a calm day. I've still got my planes, I'm just not sure what to do with them. Haven't decided if I want to find another place to fly.

Just purchased a EXI Carbon Fiber 450 and all the parts to build it. I have a feeling this will be an expensive hobby.

When the manufacturer sells the heli, it does not inclued another $1000-$1500 worth of parts needed to fly. It would still need the following.

Just Provide (Items required to fly but not included):
1x 90 size nitro engine
1x Muffler (tuned recommended)
1x 680mm-720mm main blades (720mm fiberglass or carbon fiber for FAI, 710mm carbon fiber for 3D recommended)
5x Sport line or better servos
1x Heading hold/lock gyro
1x 7-channel or better Radio Transmitter capable of 120 degree eCCPM mixing with Transmitter Battery, and Transmitter Battery Charger.
1x Transmitter and receiver crystal set
1x Governor (optional but highly recommended)
1x Nitro Gasoline
1x Starting Equipment
1x RC helicopter tools

I would love to get into flying them. though i hear they are hard to learn. much harder then planes.

i have had cheap planes for years. i might get myself a nice larger one though the one club i know of sucks. i don't like the old farts that are in it
