New RAM?

Right now I have one stick of Mushkin eXtreme Performance 1GB. I have it running 1:1 stable at 265MHz, 3-4-3-8. Before I upgrade to 2GB, I was wondering if I should just buy a new stick of this or buy a 2GB kit with lower latencies and run a divider?

So basically, would I get better performance (by that I mean big enough difference in benchies and such to justify the switch, not just a little performance gain) from 2x1GB 2-3-2-5 on a divider or stick with my RAM, 2x1GB 3-4-3-8 @ 265MHz?

if it were me, id get another 1gb stick of the same stuff. timings never made that big of a diff, imo.

but to be on the safe side, you might want to get the 2x1gb kit, that way you not only get lower timings, you are guarenteed a matched pair.

it depends on if you're okay with a few bucks wasted. i personally would go with the EXACT same extra stick of that mushkin ram but if you really want to change, go with the 2x1gb.

my vote is for the mushkin

That's what I meant, just getting another stick of the same Mushkin. That's what I'll probably do, thanks guys.
