new raid array showing up as scsi device in device manager..

Ok here's the deal: i'm running a brand new ABIT KR7A-133RAID mobo, and i have two 100gb wd 8mb editions, one on each ide RAID channel.. during the bootup sequence you can see setup recognize both drives.. and you can ctrl+H into the RAID setup and create and delete the RAID array.. but when winXP is fully booted, it doesn't show up under my computer, and under the device manager it shows up as 'WDC 10 00JB-00RA0 SCSI Disk Device'..
I'm completely lost as to how to make the RAID array recognizable as a usable drive.. any suggestions?

tangent- this is particularly frustrating as i ran into the same exact problem with my old KG7 and fixed it.. hopefully someone can help me out

Have you partitioned and formatted your RAID array? Right-click My Computer, Manage, Disk Management. Until XP has partitioned and formatted it, it won't show up in 'My Computer'. And IDE Raid sets show up as SCSI in NT/W2K/XP - that is normal.

bozo1, you da man!

stupidly enough, this is exactly what i had forgotten to do the first time around, this being my second. so much for learning from my mistakes, huh?? 😀
thanks for the help.. this whole day has been one big brain fart.. i feel like such a n00b.. [although, technically, it IS my first couple posts here 😉 ]
