New quieter CPU cooler for gateway 6400

Hi folks. I'm ordering a bunch of parts for a new PC and while I was at it, I thought it would be good to replace the CPU fan in my gateway 6400 server, which is the loudest noise source (at least noticeable) in my office. The 6400 uses a dual-CPU Asus CUR-DLS MB, and the CPU cooler on the 933 Mhz FC-PGA CPU is an AOC part of some sort, with the fan being a 50 mm device (I think). It looks like like AOC EC-DR-5B cooler assembly.

Anyways, the fan has an annoying hi whine to it - I think it's a 5000 rpm fan, and I was hoping someone here could reccomend a quieter fan that would fit on this, or a new fan/cooler assembly with a bigger sink and slower quieter fan. I'm not sure the specs on how much bigger a sink that can fit here. Most of the new parts and reviews are for the Athlon's and P4's.

Thanks again!

if you want a larger fan/heatsink go with the 80mm gc68 from svc at www.heatsinkstore.com. I'm sure you could put a panaflo on it and it will cool your p3 just fine. I dont know about the space issue though. Can't beat it for the price/noise/performance.

2 Thermaltake Volcano 2's run at 7 Volts would provide plenty of cooling for a pair of P3-933's. Can't beat the price at about $6-7 each.

btw, if you have 2 cpu's installed i'm not sure any of the 80 mm solutions will work. the 60 mm alpha pals i have installed on there are VERY close together.
