I have heard that the new Q6600's that are coming out are bad OCers. Do they stuggle to get to 3GHz or is it still almost a guaranteed OC.

they should still reach 3ghz... but nothing is guaranteed
but 3ghz from 2.4 is considered a bad oc for an intel Q6600

Many of the latest Q6600 G0's have a VID of 1.325v. Most of these "later batch" top out at 3.4, and many are locky to get that high. From what i've seen 3.0-3.2 is more common.

My 1.325 is at 3.1 and can get to 3.2 but thats it. My 1.262 is at 3.3 and can get to 3.4 but thats it. Dropped both for temp reasons. I like the temps around 50ish@ 24/7. They fold:)

Recent Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz 1.34v. Tried 3.4 today @ 1.4v but no go. Will probably take more juice but need better cooling before I attempt.

Edit: 1.325 VID.

I used 356x9 for 3.2GHz, 467x7 for 3.26GHz, 378x9 for 3.4GHz (my 24/7 setting prime stable) and 405x9 for 3.6GHz (not stable).

That's what I've been running mines at since I first got it. :) Rock solid OCCT stable for 120+ hours.

My worst Q6600 is vid 1.275, and runs 9x366 = ~3300. vcore @ 1.36

I'm running mine @ 356*9 for 3.2 GHz, 1.325 Vcc in BIOS (RAM @ 427). It'll do more than this, but I haven't tested extensively. Running it @ 3.6 showed some promise for stability, but I really didn't like the heat output and power consumption @ the needed Vcc (1.45-ish).

I'm going to re-test at some point with 425*8 for 3.4 GHz, now that I know my cheapo RAM can oc stably to at least 855 w/o any fuss.

This chip is a 1.300 VID, better than usual for a recent chip it would seem.

Older batch here... 1.2375 VID, gets to 3.6GHz at 1.35V and can go further, but it primes 70-75C so no more on air. If I had WCing I'd aim for 3.8GHz on this chip.

mine has the 1.25 VID. have it at 3.4 on a 780i FTW with tuniq tower. 1.3875 Vcore. Might get higher with something like a UD3P. I ran occt 3 linpack, temps got pretty high, up to 80 via realtemp, but occt said it was near 100 and turned test off. wondering how its accuracy in monitoring temps compares to that of realtemp...

I also had to up some other voltages as well, such as SPP, MCP, HT, and VTT.

1.22 VID here. I need to get a better board, for sure. Can't get this thing higher than 3.1GHz.
