I know what you're talking about.
I used to be a Diablo 2 addict a while back. Once the introduction of Ith's and the hacks came in, I immediately jumped ship.
I'm just waiting for 1.10 to come out and clean things up before I start playing again (hopefully during the summer)

My advice: quit!
