Yep, between Back to the Future (Doc's Dog was Einstein) and Cowboy Bebop (Corgi named Ein), I knew his name before I even found him. It's easier to explain the BTTF reference since 99.9% of the people I know have no clue what Cowboy Bebop is.

But if someone hasn't seen Cowboy Bebop, does their opinion even matter?

You're wrong about that. Because of CB, "Ein" is probably the most popular Corgi name.
