Got my XClio 450w from newegg today. I opened up the box, and its giving off a bad smell like gasoline. The box was kinda warm too, but so are most of the packages ive been getting this summer. Should i be worried?

I think thats normal to have that "new electronics" type smell to it once you open the package. I bought a PSU a few months ago that smelled similar to that, its been workign fine ever since. As long as it didn't start AFTER you installed it in your PC i think you're fine.

i don't really care that the box is warm cuz that's pretty normal, but the gasoline like smell is bothering me.

New PSU do have a slight burnt smell. As long as it's working and you don't see any smoke then it should be fine. If something's really burnt inside the PSU most likely wouldn't work at all.

No they don't, not good ones anyway.

To the OP it could be serious or it could be no big deal, hard to say without opening it up. If the smell persists I would defiantly RMA it.
