Only 25amps on the 12V? I would think they would make something that can stand a X1900 Crossfire system or a beastly SLI system...With only 25amps, it can't handle either one of those, but its a good start I guess....

Saw this coming also...

The 25A won't be shared by any other components in the PC and at the very least should allow those that only have a PSU capable of powering 1 GPU to power 2 GPU's.

Ya, I've got to think they wouldn't bother if it wasn't capable of powering the current high end.

Anyway, I though this looked like a really good idea, depending on price. The really high watt PSUs cost a good deal of money, if this would let you keep a 430W you already had and cost $75, it would be a good deal.

Even if it costs more it might be worth it as an add on for the ultra high end systems.

thats not a bad idea and if the price is right, maybe cheaper and less hassle than buying a looking for a new PSU

People who build ultra high end systems also spend money on PSU's. This thing is a band-aid product for the half assers out there who didn't do it right the first time. There are a lot of those people out there though, so Tt should probably make some money off of this. Personally, I think it's a bad idea because it takes up precious drive space, produces more heat, and takes up even more precious backplane space. There is a space in every case that will accomodate a PSU that gives the PSU clear access to power and proper ventilation, learn to use this space wisely.

I have a server size case (room for two PSU) and well run two power supplies in parallel..than there is no question of having enough power...it is not hard i have done it before when running two TEC's on the old voodoo 5500..just google it and there is step by step instructions...have one psu run the computer and have the sli approved psu run just the 2 VC's then there is headroom for OC. I believe this would work just fine. I am no electrical guru but it has worked fine in the past. Please correct me if I'm wrong with an SLI or crossfire setup:)
