I just got a new 550w PSU for my e6400 setup.

With my existing psu (a 4 year old enermax 350w) it ran fine. Since I put the new PSU in (no other hardware changes), ive noticed programs crashing a lot. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot this?

A DMM will not be able to pick-up spikes and drops in voltage that cause these types of problems.
RMA the unit. You did not mention the brand. ;)

It could be a loose connection pin or cut wires within the insulation where the pin is crimped on. It could be alot of things. The NUUO is a decent unit, RMA it.
Dips in voltage happen so fast an ocilloscope is needed to pick them up and a quick dip can cause a lock-up or BSOD.
The rig works with a know goos PSU. So? RMA.

I put my old psu in, and it appears that I continue to have ctd and random reboot problems. I set BIOS to defaults and it is no help.

Probably a motherboard issue?
