We are considering building a box around it and the A/C vent to pipe the cold air specifically through.

err, it has to have its own AC. unless you want to cool your whole house down to the same level the projector needs

Every room has it's own thermostat.

I always wondered about those. How exactly does that work? Do you actually have diverters that is controlled off the main duct?

Also, say it's a chilly night, your furnace is on, how does that translate into cooling for your projector?

You may not have need of a lot of warm air in Texas, but I am assuming you do have a furnace and you have a forced air system for the whole house.

My understanding is that there are diverters which can move air around within specific zones in the house. Each zone has it's own unit with control. The company doing the install chatted with the guys from Runco and told me that we wouldn't need to blow the air through it, the internal fan can handle it itself. They did say if they heat is on though it is best to turn off the duct that is near it.

how big is your theater room going to be? Having recently set up a HT in my basement, I'm genuinely interested in your setup. Obviously Im happy with what I have, but I'm curious to know what (a lot) more money can buy.

I will give full details including some basic price info (I won't give the actual info out, but can point you in the right direction) once everything is finished and I know that I'm happy ;)

That was why I said separate cooling system. Even if you are just venting for more airflow, it is better than trying to stop airflow to it when it's heating season.

Since I live in the Dallas area, I will expect an invite to your house when it's complete for a full inspection.:D

Jesus! How do you justify that cost? And a DIY project? Seriously, if you have that kinda coin, why are you doing this yourself?

Judging by his avatar, and the fact that he's in Texas, I'm going to say he's in the Grapevine\Colleyville area, and judging by the projector, I'm going to say almost certainly Colleyville. I'm active duty military, but my home is also in Colleyville. There's not too many people in "Collywood" hurting for money.

Nice projector OP. I'd like to see the completed room.
