New Processor Question

I just recieved my new x2 3800+ from newegg today (shocking, but ups delivered
it early!). I currently have an amd64 3000+ overclocked from 1.8 to 2.2 ghz running.
After I install my new cpu and turn it on, do I have to go into the bios and turn off
all the overclocking, or will it notice it as a new cpu and set everything to default on
its own? I've swapped out cpu's in the past, but never after overclocking before.
The mobo is an asus a8n-sli deluxe if it makes a difference.

It wont go back to default. It'll probably try to run at your overclocked speed (which your new CPU should be able to handle pretty well) but if it doesn't work you'll have to either clear your bios settings or enter the bios and reset your settings manually. I would recommend that you reset your settings and then try overclocking if you want to.

Probably would just be a good idea to reset it in bios before I put it in.
Better safe than sorry.
Thanks for the replies.
