New processor , now dead system

Just bought a celeron 1.2 to replace the 600 I had. Its a gigabyte ga-6vxe7+ board. Installed new chip and dvd drive and you hear the drives spinning but I get no video. Tried to go back to the old processor and the same thing. Tried to remove cmos battery and reset still nothing. You can set jumpers or in the bios and Ive tried both. Neither works. Any ideas.
